Wikipedia Edit

My 5th edit to the Wikipedia article on UD Football, exceedes the required 4 edits due to the fact that my article on Burnt Sienna was deleted. I founnd on UDaily, the UD online news source, that K.C. Keeler's contract with UD football as head coach would be extended until 2009. I added this info under the heading " Blue Hens under the lead of K.C. Keeler".

As my 5th edit to the Deer Park Tavern article, since my article on Burnt Sienna was deleted, I added more details to the Service heading that I recently created. To inform those interested, I stated that not only does Deer Park offer a full menu from open to close along with nightly specials, they also have nightly entertainment to satisfy their customers.

Wikipedia Edit

The article that I created on one of my favorite cover bands, Burnt Sienna, was deleted by Wikipedia due to its promotional activity. I found this somewhat exciting to see the process of an edit/elimination personally. It just shows that there are people out there monitoring wikipedia articles that coincide with its rules and standards. Since this was deleted, I will make 2 more posts to my other articles.

Kristie's blog comments on the article "Should SEOs Care About Wikipedia" and the popularity this website creates, I must agree with Kristie that SEO's should get involved to utilize this no-cost form of generating traffic. With the very nature of this program in allowing users to make additions and edit to articles, companies could monitor and correctly edit articles referring to their company. However one must realize that since this source is created by users, that this source should not be the sole source in researching.

Brenna's blog post commenting on her iColor Studio Wikipedia article suggested that it was categorized as a "Stub". Not being so sure exactly what this term meant, I looked up the term on goggle and found the definition. An article too short to provide more than rudimentary information about a subject should be marked as a stub. One can make edits and or remove article that is considered a stub. When I googled the term, the first site to come up was from Wikipedia, which shows the usefulness and popularity of Wikipedia today.

Lydia originally helped me to set up my Google Adsense, since I am computer illiterate, ( maybe not illiterate, but I use technology in its simplest forms, hey my car still has a tape deck)! But I really liked how she had advertisements of the class' textbooks pictured on the cite. Signing up for Amazon Affiliate will allow me to show the same, and I am one step closer to having my blog to reflect the class template.

Checking out the last member of my teammate, Mike B.'s blog I noticed at first that it was all in pink! lol. The post titled "reflection on class" commenting on the changing technology, I thought it was pretty smart for Mike to compare the use of Facebook as an addiction to most and a potential outlet for marketers to reach their target customers.
